Hi!

I transferred a 140GB tar file to my knox vault but it`s not shown on the vault. The strange thing is that the size of the vault, a complete hd, is reduced by exatly 140gb.

Where is the file?

Another thing I`d like to know: can I “quick format” the vault without creating the whole vault new?

Hello! That does seem strange. The file is not displayed by Finder and `ls’? Was this a brand new vault you used? If so, can you reproduce it by deleting the vault and doing the same thing again? If it does happen again, could you try and “Verify Disk” for the mounted vault volume in Disk Utility. Is this on Tiger or Leopard?

Yes, you can erase the mounted vault volume without ill effect. You might also want to compact it to reclaim hard disk space.
