Convert dmg or sparseimage on disk to "full disk encryption"?
Hi, since Knox’s “full disk encryption” is just a dmg file plus a ”.knox-vault” directory plus a “Knox.app” binary, is it possible to convince Knox that an existing .sparseimage file on an external harddisk is to be treated as a “fully encrypted disk” by creating this directory? My problem is that I have an external disk which contains a huge (250Gb) encrypted image, and I would like to convert this into a “fully encrypted disk” using Knox, so I can save one mount when I use it. I do not have the space to copy the data inside this .sparseimage file to a temporary location to let Knox reformat the volume. Thanks! |

Does anybody have an idea whether this would work? I don’t want to destroy my image file. Thanks! |

It should work, but obviously it’s not a supported/preferred way of creating a whole-disk vault. |
