Many times (intermittently) Knox will die when I first login to my account. It starts up normally, bouncing in the Dock, but then it just doesn’t stick around. I have my preferences set to display Knox in the menu bar (not the Dock) and to reopen previously open vaults on login. This is an intermittent problem on Leopard on my MacBook Pro, and I also experienced it on Tiger on my MBP and my older PowerBook—Knox 1.5 and earlier.

While I can’t quite put my finger on it, I suspect that there’s so much paging going on when the system is logging me in that Knox just gets tired of waiting (does Knox use timed waits during the startup flow?) and dies; I do actually load a lot of things at login. Any ideas you may have or info you might need from me to help debug the issue I’d be glad to provide. Thanks!
