Hi,

I have just upgraded to 1.5 for Know and I tried backing up a vault while it was still open. First a message was displayed indicating the vault would be place in read-only mode. I hit continue. I was then displayed a message indicating the vault could not be backed up until it was closed.

To backup while the vault is open, does the vault need to be created with the 1.5 software?

Before backup, Knox will issue a mount command to drop the vault in question to a read-only state. This will fail if an application has a file open (for writing) on the vault, prompting the error message you saw. We still hope to improve this experience in the future—it’s less than optimal, but an improvement over the behavior in 1.1.1.
