Hi everyone,
I just bought Knox.
I’m using a local copy of my iDisk (it’s automatically synchronized with the online one) so I can work both on my iBook and my iMac. I made some vaults to secure different sensible folders and put them on my iDisk. The problem is that when I add or modify one file, I have to upload the all vault whiwh mean uploading all its content again. This result of a very very slow update each time I make minor changes.
Am I missing something ? Is there another solution to my problem ?

To resume I would like to interact with some secure files on my iDisk.

Thank you very much in advance for the ones who will take the time to answer my question.
Sylvain

Hello Sylvain! Yes, unfortunately this is the case with the current disk image formats Knox uses. The next version of Knox will support sparse bundle disk images, in which the data is divided into chunks of around 8 megabytes. If the tool that is used to synchronize between iDisk and local disks can do incremental updates, the minimum upload will be that 8 megabytes when a file inside a vault is changed.

Placing a vault directly onto iDisk and accessing it every time from there to work on files is not recommended as a workaround, as the network connection might get cut off abruptly and cause the vault and the files inside it to get corrupted.

Thanks for your response. I followed your advice and only use my iDisk to automatically save my vaults now.
